This page is intended to provide supplemental resources for Health. The following sites provide video, song, and interactive activities to help integrate Health Education into your classroom. Just to the left of this paragraph you can find a PDF document with the Health Education Standards for the state of Idaho. Just click on "Download File" to have a copy for your records.
General Health Resources
The following resources provide videos for the subject of health in areas relating to the Idaho Health Education Standards. These resources provide a broad range of health-related matters.
PBS Kids
This is a great resource for elementary level health videos! To use this site, click on the site name above (PBS Kids). A new window will pop up with the PBS Kids video page all ready to go. On the right side of the screen, click on the light blue "Browse Videos" button. In the new box that appears below, click on the orange "Topics" tab. Close to the bottom of the new list is "Health." If you use the scroll bar on the right side of this box, you will be able to browse through the health topics of "Eating Right," "Human Body," "Hygiene," and "Senses."
Watch Know Learn
This is another great site for videos. This site offers videos in many content areas, including health. To use this side, click on the site name above (Watch Know Learn). A new window will pop up with the Watch Know Learn website. On the left side of the screen under the "directory," find the topic "Physical and Health Education." If you click on the plus (+) next to this topic, you will get an expanded list of health topics to browse.

Specific Health Resources
The following resources are associated with specific elements of the health standards.
Kids Health
This link will take you to the "Kids Health in the Classroom" site. In the menu on the left of the screen, you can select the grade level you teach and scan through teacher guides on the topics of "human body," "health problems," and "personal health." You can also access the kids' site HERE.
Tox Mystery
This is an interactive site teaching elementary school students about toxic substances in the home. Includes lesson plans and activities. Also available in Spanish. To access, just click on the site name above (Tox Mystery)!
ADA for Kids
This site has videos and activities to teach about healthy dental habits. Just click on the site name above and chose one of the great animations like "Visit the Dentist with Marty."
Building Blocks: Children
This site has a lot of great interactive resources to teach about healty living, encompassing the elements of emotional, intellectual, physical and social health. There are sing-a-long songs with lyrics, games, and other useful tools for teaching these topics. Click on the link above to get started.
